What are Jackpots?

Jackpots are large cash prizes that accumulate until they are won. Everyone who enters a jackpot contributes to the cash prize, but only a limited number win the prize.

When Are They?

Weather permitting, we hold them every Saturday from 10 am until 3 pm, starting on the first Saturday in January and ending on the last Saturday in May. Contact us if you are in doubt about the weather conditions at the club.

How Do They Work?

You shoot 50 targets in this order:

  • 25 Singles targets
  • 25 Handicap targets from a distance determined by the number of targets you hit at the 16-yard line, with a 23-yard minimum.

Example 1: At the 16-yard line, you shoot a 23 or less. You move to the next trap field and shoot this round from the 23-yard line.

Example 2: At the 16-yard line, you shoot a 24. You move to the next trap field and shoot this round from the 24-yard line.

Example 3: At the 16-yard line, you shoot a 25. You move to the next trap field and shoot this round from the 25-yard line.

If you shoot less than a 25 in the Singles round, you have the option to move back to a higher yardage for the Handicap round, but you can never move forward.

How Is the Money Divided?

Daily Purse

Lewis Class, decided by a roll of the dice. In case of ties, runs are also decided by a roll of the dice.

Jackpot No. 1

  • 50-Straights pay 50% of Jackpot No. 1 for those who are eligible.
  • To be eligible, you must have entered the event at least 3 times prior to the 50 straight. This means that you become eligible the 4th time you enter a jackpot. This helps build the amount available in the pot.

Jackpot No. 2

  • Jackpot No. 2 is also known as the Final Jackpot because it accumulates over the jackpot season until the last day.
  • On the final day, Jackpot No. 1 and the Final Jackpot are combined and paid out.
  • The Final Jackpot purse will be paid out opposite of the Daily Purse.
  • To be eligible for the Final Jackpot, you must have entered the event 5 times prior to the last day of the jackpots. In other words, you cannot shoot a jackpot the morning of the final day and have it count as one of the 5 required Final Jackpot entries. It will count only toward the Daily Purse.
  • Each time you enter the event, you earn a point toward the Final Jackpot purse.
  • The more times you shoot, the more points you have on the final day. The more points you accumulate, the more money you can win.

How Much Do They Cost?

$20.00 total per chance, broken down as follows:

  • Targets = $12.00
  • Daily purse = $6.00
  • Jackpot No.1 = $1.00
  • Jackpot No.2 = $1.00

How Many Times Can I Shoot?

You can enter more than once. Each score has a chance to win.
